Cannot find my listing

Hello

with your help earlier (few months ago) I finally plucked up the courage to list on ebay.  I have recently listed some new printer inks but couldn't find my listing.  I opted to 'promote' it and it has had some views but I still cannot find it when I check.

What do you mean when you say you can’t find it? The eBay search logarithms are certainly very strange but a promoted listing should be on or near the first page on a generic search, but depending on your eBay rating even promoted might not be absolutely at top. 

Log out and search as a guest use a few keywords and also look at what search you are using as it could be ‘Best match’ or ending soonest or even lowest price first. Keep adding key words until yours appear.

I have had many a problem when searching for my own listing to check if they come up and finding nothing (thus explaining the 0 views)

Some I have solved, some not.

One example: if you search for Ehrman in 'All Categories' then it switches to 'Embroidery' so if you have listed an Ehrman tapestry in another category then it doesn't show

So unless a prospective purchaser is  savvy enough to spot the category has changed and put it back tp 'All' then they will never see your listing.

Not my listing but a guy on another forum posted a link to his ebay listing. Link went direct and worked
but a search could not find his listing even using the item number.

Exact title, keywords username everything showed this seller has no active listings but there it was for sale.
Only 1 other person bid on the item so I got it for a great price.

It's strange because I list items one week and barely get any views then the following week I get multiple views and bids.

I think 'you'd have gotten that item last week for a lot less'  (not that I'm complaining).

nope.

have turned it upside down and inside out.  Looked for my listing through others' accounts and it is not there.

Insists it's Active in my selling account and has had 23 views.  Extremely confusing......
