Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark,- air feels cold.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was HM chicken and mushroom pie, mash, veg and gravy. Not sure what we'll be having tonight.
Yesterday work was ok, I was quite busy so the morning went by quite quickly. Last working day today once finished today I'm on days' off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope you have a good day at work.
Snowing this morning, could be an interesting drive to work. The bin lorry has just been along, very early for round here, that will have compacted the snow beautifully!
Work is extremely busy at the moment, probably more of the same today. Called to see the little one after work who was full of beans, really cheered me up.
Washing nearly dry, just airing off the bedding on the radiator, not enough for a load today.
Hope everyone is safe and well, take care. XX14 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off.Hope you get to work safely Camelot. It's dry here, last night it was pouring and it had been a bitterly cold day, not that I was out apart from putting washing on the line. Not a lot planned for today, we might go out for a bite at lunchtime as it's my birthday, though we don't make a big deal of birthdays now we're cracking on a bit!I think a few of us have birthdays in the next week or two, Gers and TA do I'm sure.Gers yesterday you mentioned TK M*axx at Silverlink, yes I believe there is one there, its a good size shopping centre, haven't been there for a quite a while,DS2 and family live in N Tyneside and we sometimes used to go there with them if we were over. I find Newcastle and the Metrocentre easiest to get to, our little town is on main north - south bus routes. There is a TK at a shopping centre near Durham as well, I always forget about that one.DP1, I like the shoes there as well, in fact I like the shop generally, and have had some nice things from there. I love a good browse in TK!Hope everyone is all right anyway, and has as good a day as they can, take care folks.14

Morning folks. There's a very light covering of wishy -washy snow here, I'm sure that other places have much more. When I came back to bed after a comfort break at about 3am I saw a flash of lightning at the back of the house, nothing more.I'm really itching to get out to potter in the garden or a walk but the rain just goes on and on, sometimes hail, like right now, other times like stair rods all with high winds. February has been grim this year. All the wee spring flowers are getting a battering.Yesterday I put some seed potatoes onto my window ledge to chit as the arrival of the growing bags prompted my memory. I also, finally, grated a large piece of cheese and got it into the freezer in portions. All the bits and pieces of it I threw out into the back garden for the birds, it was all gone in under half and hour. The feeders are empty, I'm waiting for a break in the rain so I can refill them. Thanks for the comments about spending some of my inheritance, I really don't want to fritter it away, at my age I have balance monies more. Not having a monthly salary is still strange, the pot isn't going to refill every month as it did previously. However, no point hoarding it either, I want to enjoy it. 😀I think the sky is as light as it's going to be so I'll make getting up moves, soon. One of my bed socks has come off so I have to decide whether to get out of bed to put it on again or simply get up - can't make my mind up. 😅Still got one portion of chilli left for today, just as well I like it.I hope all our poorlies are doing OK. Happy Thursday to all.13

Good morning everyone and thanks for the start xxxx
The weather is absolutely foul here atm. Lashing heavy rain and windy. Just the sort of weather for walking to the station and schlepping into the London office! Oh well! I have a rucksack with breakfast, lunch, snacks, tea, coffee, milk – to avoid unnecessary spending 😊
Dinner last night was chicken, lemon and garlic casserole. A one pot meal, and was tasty. Tonight we will have bolognaise bake which I made yesterday, so DH just has to pop it in the oven. DD and DS2 have just informed me that they are both out for dinner tonight, so will be a few portions for the freezer too.
Go steady Camelot – I hate driving in the snow ☹
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Happy Birthday! So many Pisceans here. Have a wonderful day.11 -
Good Morning everybody, and hope you are all safe ,warm and well. Happy Birthday to all celebrating, including my gorgeous grandson our gentle Jack who is 22 today.
Last year he celebrated his 21st all on his own as he was in lockdown at Uni. This year will be a lot better.
Worrying news on the wireless this morning about Ukraine and Russia.I do hope we don't get involved in a third world war.
Having just survived a two year pandemic, the last thing this world needs is another war.
Sadly more price rises will soon follow, as the world prices are dependant on so many factors. So petrol, oil and gas prices will go up even further .
Even more belt tightening ahead for us chums, but we won't panic just yet. I hope that common sense may prevail, and not too much sabre rattling.
Grey skies outside at the moment, and it looks very wet and nasty out there I am hoping it will clear before I go to DDs bearing gifts for Jack.
As its wet and cold I can't see the builder turning up today ,but looking at the forecast its only this morning then we have a spell of dry stuff and tomorrow even sunshine is due
think positive chums onwards and upwards

Good morning,
Happy birthday 🎂 to everyone with a birthday.
It poured down here last night but seems dry now. I'm off for a walk along the coastal path with a friend this morning, we usually take a flask and a sandwich but as there's a lovely cafe there we're going to treat ourselves 😊
Then just the usual cleaning etc
Have a good day 🌻14 -
Morning everyone happy birthday scarlet have a lovely day I also forget about the TK at Durham it’s a shop I like as well always something different I have had a few bargains as well. Taff I know what you mean about funerals we have heard of so many people lately around our age and it certainly makes you think it’s very true life is so short you really have to try and make the most of every minute.off to work in a minute I made beef stew yesterday ready for tonight I I thought I had I have just found the beef in the fridge never mind I have put it in now and it will just warm up tonight I will be back at 5 it has just started snowing but hopefully it won’t come to much at least the wind has died down but it’s very cold hugs to all that need them stay safe and warm have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Morning, hugs if you need one.
Its very grey here and raining, we are expecting council workers to come, but there is one job I doubt they will do, and thats replace the concrete on the apex of the roof. Will see. Also expecting a Morrison delivery, had ordered smoked haddock, but they have not got any, so will have to pick some up next time I am in the shop, had ordered 3 packs for £10.
Bitting and bobbing day yesterday, am preparing my Janome machine for sale. I am doing a swap with my Brother machine for a dual purpose machine at the end of March. Collecting the new one when we go up for the retreat, so just one machine instead of two. I also ordered the fold up bed for the back room, once it comes I can sort out the bedroom once and for all. I spent ages looking for the knee lift for the Janome, could not remember where I had put it, pulled out a box and there it was one the top., still in its wrapping. I have never used it. Next job is to give the machine a good clean.
Chicken for supper tonight, need to use up some cauliflower.11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. I hope today is not too manic for you. We currently have snow but the forecast is for snow, sleet, hail, rain and even thunder! Everything bar some sun! Oh well going nowhere but I feel sorry for those battling through it. Be safe x.
Happy Birthday SCARLET I knew it was imminent but, as GERS says, we have so many Pisceans on here! Enjoy your lunch out.
TAFF your post yesterday really touched me. I hope the blood test results highlight your problems and they are things that can be remedied easily. x
COXY sorry about the job application. But everything happens for a reason and I hope this means there is a better opportunity waiting for you.
Needless to say yesterday was an expensive day at the vets! £87.50 (£50 of which was the consultation fee!!) The branch surgery we went to was so much quieter than the usual one we go to so I think I may stick with it in future. There's no difference in mileage, we are an equal distance from them both! It was a lovely lady vet and Sparkle was on her best behaviour after an initial low growl! I think she is based there all the time.
The news this morning is very very worrying and puts our little worries into perspective. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and fed ups. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11
