Hotel & Theatre Booking

Hi all
I had booked some theatre tickets and a hotel in London as a treat for myself and my partner but due to the storms last week all of our travel was cancelled and we were unable to attend. I had tried to contact both the theatre and hotel as soon as I was aware but it took a while to get through and they have been unable to do anything for me. Has anyone else had any similar experiences with booking.com & Ticketmaster? Just wondering where I stand as over £300 has been spent without having anything back.
