Impossible to Terminate Virgin Media Contract, what to do please?

I’m in desperate need of help. I’ve just moved house, I’m renting, but find I’m spending literally hours desperately trying to cancel my Virgin media contract. This situation is now beginning to affect my physical and mental health-I have very severe rheumatoid arthritis- and I simply can’t believe this can be allowed to happen.
I just don’t know who to turn to. I’ve got to the point where I accept that I made a huge mistake using this company and just want to pay a ransom to escape. But I can’t even let them know this!
The problem is twofold, I’m unable to speak to anyone on the phone to cancel my contract because apparently I was given a password by the installer and I have no idea what it is. A bot informed me it would send me one a month ago in a text which I waited 45 minutes to receive. But no password ever came.
I have sent several letters requesting termination to their addresses in Nottingham (from which they apparently moved in January) and Sunderland.
But no letter is ever acknowledged. I’m consequently at my wits end . I’m appalled and will do anything to be rid of these people. But what can I do ? How can I leave when I can’t speak to them and they never acknowledge letters? I’m contemplating using a solicitor if only to witness the contents of my next letter and fir them to send it themselves. Any help greatly appreciated.

- Make a note of the correct Virgin Media contact numbers – You can either dial 150 from your Virgin Media home phone or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone
If you speak to an adviser they willreset your password with your personal information., or they will cancel your contract with this information.

And now all I need do is phone this number above and somehow I can speak to someone without first remembering this password ?
Ok I will try. I can spare an hour. I can’t wait for tomorrow now.0 -
If that doesn't work, before you lose hope, try ringing technical support line (or new business line?) and asking for help perhaps.Peter

Its usually your last bill amount, your DD date for example.
I am in the middle of dealing with a horrendous billing issue with them so have had to do the above more often than I would ever wish on anyone lately.2 -
Oh thanks very much . I literally just phoned and hung up after the recorded voice said it’s wrong .0

Oh my gosh. I’ve just spoken to a very nice young woman at Virgin Media and, I can hardly believe this, but it’s possible that I have in fact managed to terminate my contract.
I don’t know what to say. There is one snag, the boxes have to be sent to my previous address which could well be a problem but I will just have to take that chance .
So all I had to do was hang on the line ?Oh dear oh dear oh dear. What a fool I am . I apologise to Virgin Media. Then again they’ve got an extra month out of me for services I will never use. And my bill is very high. No idea how it got that high .0 -
If you had given written notice in terms of the contract, I expect that's all that the contract requires for you to terminate it. They don't need to acknowledge it.0
