Can't you pay it in using the banking app? Thought all allowed that these days
Edit: According to Virgin's website up to £1,000 cheques can be paid in using the app and up to £5,000 per day0 -
As far as I know, a cheque made out to a single name can be paid into a joint account where the name on the cheque is also on the name of the joint account.
What you can’t do is pay a cheque in joint names into an account in a single name.
if your wife has accounts in her own name then I’m sure you could pay a cheque in to an account in her name - I’ve paid cheques in for my partner into their own account. I just wrote my own name in on the ‘paid in by’ line.0 -
Virgin Money Banking also allow you to pay in cheques at Post Office branches I believe if this would work more easily for you.0

I might be missing something but I thought the OP had said they were getting a cheque from Virgin Bank, not necessarily that their account was with Virgin.Sandtree said:Can't you pay it in using the banking app? Thought all allowed that these days

Yes you can pay it into a joint account.
I pay mine in using an app these days and if that fails I use the post office (saves me paying for parking at the bank).

Surely anyone can pay money into any account if they have the details and the cheque name matches the account name?alankearn said:My wife is expecting a cheque from Virgin Bank am I ( her husband ) allowed to pay this cheque into our joint bank account as she is disabled and not able to walk if not I will have to arrange another method of payment

Your right, the first point is still true though, that most banks allow payment in by app for cheques under £1kFatherTireseus said:
