92% increase in Standing Charge!
I've just received an email from E.ON Next advising me of my new tariff effective 1st April. What is the justification for increasing the standing charge by 92%? For my electricity, it goes from 20.093p/day to 48.127p/day. Surely the standard charge could remain unchanged, as I thought it covered fixed costs, including costs of meters, etc., so should be unaffected by wholesale energy markets. Is this price gouging?
