A friend gave me one of her Rugosa del Friuli knobbly courgettes at the end of last season; it had gone too hard to eat but, she said, might be good for seed this spring. I popped it on top of my boiler - an excellent spot for drying herbs & seeds & starting seedlings - and kind of forgot about it. Until now, when I need the space to start my tomatoes. I cut it open to extract any seeds that looked viable, and this is what I found:

The seeds have germinated - not weird, just natural.
