Morning everyone
Got a surprise when I got up this morning - youngest cat was sitting at the top of the stairs miaowing for his breakfast! It's almost 3 weeks since he went missing and I assumed he'd been hit by a car. He seems fine, he practically inhaled his food but doesn't look he's been starving so he must have been getting fed somewhere.
Little one will be delighted - I had told her he was at the vets...yesterday she said 'Felix has been at the vets a long time now, is he not better yet?'
I'd love to know where he's been.
It's wild and windy here yet again - nice blue sky though and the sun is shining.
Gers - my back garden is getting tidied next week and the shed repaired - it's expensive but needs doing. I have paint ready to do the fences - if I ever have the energy and if the wind ever stops blowing!
Scarlet Ribbons - I love TK Maxx on Northumberland Street - especially the shoes!
Coxy11 - shame about the job - there will be others I'm sure
Nelski - pleased your new cleaner is lovely
Red ruby - hope you're feeling better later.
Well I'm going to get some jobs done. Hope everyone has a good day x14 -
Morning all. Rubbish sleep last night, woke up OH shouting in pain, must try and avoid that tonight being as he's on earlies and has to get up early. He'll be back in a bit anyway, we have a funeral today of a work colleague we've both known for over twenty years. He always used to talk about moving back to his home country and now will never have the chance, an absolute shame. And there will be another soon, another ex-work colleague. OH was currently working with both. It's very sobering, more so for OH I think, who would happily go travel the world given half the chance. He's re-assessing his priorities at the moment now I think because this is the third person we know who has died in the last three weeks. None of them were particularly old, and none had a condition you could point to and say ah well if you know what I mean. I know I sound quite detached about it, in a way, I am and in a way I'm not. For me, thinking too much about it all would reduce me to a bubbling mess and I don't have that right. So, anyway, more docs appointments for me, just checking again on a couple of things that weren't quite right last time, I won't worry until if or when there is something to worry about. I think all the treatment and the tablets are just having a bit of toll that's all. It's quite odd in one way. I am so very grateful for all the time and energy and money the NHS poured into me to fix me, but I am also still very angry deep down that I didn't bounce back and be well. I know there are a lot more people worse off than me but I get very frustrated I am not back to 'normal'. Also very irritating are the mean well people who give me advice about doing more excercise etc without understanding that doing more excercise simply isn't possible and not a cure all. Anyway, rant over, now I've exposed myself for the selfish creature I am. I just need a hobby to take my mind off stuff.TA, it's great that Sparkle has had such a long interval, hope the vet is firm with her
dp1 also how lovely your cat is back...camelot, glad you're better. Coxy, what a shame, they don't know what they're missing! Ruby, hope you feel better soon..Nelski, woop woop good cleaner alert! snoozer, I wonder how next door do it and they are in their eighties...I'd be knackered in my fifties...right, take care all, it's still not nice out there so relax on sofa or wrap up warm...

Morning all. MIA yesterday, one of those days when time just disappears. First up was to do what needed to be done at home, then into town for retinal screening (thankfully the rain had stopped by this time), off the bus a stop earlier for a small shop in the Co-op on the way home and by the time I got back I was pooped. I haven't been to the city centre for over two years and have to say I won't be in a hurry to repeat the experience. Our bus service has been reduced during the day for half term week so there were more passengers than I had expected, most of them choosing to not wear a face covering. The road network in the city centre has been changed completely since I was last there and they're still not finished. The ladies at the eye clinic were lovely though and I was in and out within half an hour. A bit strange coming out though with blurry vision! Still, it's done with for another year now.
Out again today to pick up DH's meds then on to Sainsbugs for a few bits and bobs that I can't get from them online but can if I visit my local store. Oh well, it's a bit of fresh air and a walk to blow away the cobwebs. And it's windy enough to do that alright but at least it's dry and milder than of late.
On Monday when I went to the PO that's in our local Nisa store I had a look round to see if it had improved stock-wise since opening last November. Well, it has to a certain extent but I'm still not tempted to buy anything from there. We all know that food prices keep going up but I just had to query the price on one of the items I saw. A box of dried marrowfat peas that I normally pay around 65p for was priced up at - wait for it - £2.00!Same brand, same size box. Where on earth are they getting their prices from? I'll be very surprised if they're still in business this time next year.
Scarlet - Yes, I find it’s best to get unwanted things out of the house asap, I think when they hang around the temptation to change your mind is always there. Funny thing is though that when they’re gone I never miss them.
Good luck with the vet TA, I hope it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Shame about the job application Coxy. Nothing ventured, nothing gained though, hope something comes along soon.
Glad you’ve got your cat back dp1, that must have been a lovely surprise. DD’s cat is still missing.
-taff - Yes, funerals definitely make you think, especially when the person is younger/fitter than you and the passing is unexpected.
Right, time to get a wriggle on otherwise nothing will get done. Hugs to anyone needing/wanting one, enjoy the rest of Wednesday whatever you are doing. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Been to friendship/lunch club at SA today - must have made about 50 cups of tea and coffee. We were short of helpers today so feeling a bit tired. I was back and forth to the doors - donations and people needing a food parcel. It is only going to get worse with all the price rises.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
