British Gas - no electricity bills for months?
Hi there,
Apologies if this is in the wrong place!
I'd like to start off by stating I do not understand how gas and electric works, so please bare with me.
We are with British Gas for both gas and electric. On checking the app we are on a 'Price Promise September 2022' tariff.
I moved into a new build back in August 21, and have been receiving gas bills from British Gas as and when they ask for our meter readings - no problem there.
We initially did receive an electric bill when we first moved in (for a nominal amount), and British Gas advised that our electric readings should automatically be sent to them, but have since paid nothing whatsoever for electric.
We do have solar panels on the house and when looking at both the readings from the solar panel meter and the electric meter, it appears the solar panels have generated more energy than we've used? I'm probably being a bit naive here, but could this be possible? Or is it likely there is something wrong with the electric readings being sent back to British Gas?
Thanks!

Have you been in touch with BG?
It may be that you are on a 6 monthly billing cycle. = is your tariff a pay on receipt of bill, or are you/should you be paying a DD? (if so what does your bank account say)Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
The terms and conditions say that bills ‘must’ be paid by Direct Debit. Can you have a look at your current account and see if there is a BG one set up there, or a cancelled one if your bank shows that?
There is a daily Standing Charge to pay, so even if you have some sort of feed-in arrangement, you would still be billed by BG for that.Arch0 -
I'd submit manual meter readings. That usually prompts the generation of a bill in my experience.0
