Just had a PIV unit installed. Questions...

Hi
Just had a PIV unit installed due to large amounts of condensation on windows as well as front and back doors. It's a Nuaire unit with the heating element to take the chill off the air.
All the marketing and videos suggest the unit is barely audible but our unit is noticeably noisy even on slow fan speeds. It doesnt sound like air noise coming from the outlet but like a small engine running in the background. This noise only increases as the fan speed increases.
It is joist mounted rather than suspended.
Any thoughts from anyone?

It was not a good idea to mount it on the joists. Normally large fan units are installed on isolation mounts if they are being attached to timber. Have you spoken to the installer and asked them to rectify the problem? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

When I installed my unit I suspended it using the nylon cord supplied.
It was easier to do that rather than fix it to the joists.
Having listened to your video clip that is way noisier than my Drimaster unit.
If I stand directly under my unit I struggle to hear it to be honest.
I think you should really get your installer back to change it to suspended.
There is also the possibility that you have a faulty unit

Either way the installer is coming back today to suspend for us in order to reduce noise further.
If there is a fault then it'll still arise later down the line.0 -
Please keep an eye on how much the heated component costs to run, especially with electricity prices rising.2

mine is audible, especially in the bedroom which is under where it's mounted. I had it checked there's not an issue with it, I just hadn't appreciated there will be some noise. I have put mine on a timer so it goes off at 11pm and back on at 7.30am and that's solved the issue0
