Sorry if this has been asked before, I cant find an answer - how do I fund paypal by direct debit via the website? I have successfully linked my current accounts and I can see how to request a direct debit from the app but I cant see how to request to fund it by direct debit from the website.
Any idea?
Any idea?

If you are linking your current account details (NOT the 16 digit card no) so Sort code & acc no. Then that is setting up the DD.
You set the account as prefered payment method. And that will do it.
If it's set up you should see DD under your listed DD's, but may take a while to be shown, or in some cases not until a payment is taken.Life in the slow lane2 -

Any idea?I don't believe it possible to top-up paypal by DD on the website. I don't know about the app though.1 -
Unless you want to buy something, the only way to pull cash into Paypal using a DD is via the app. It's been many years since you could do it online

It used to be (may have changed) that if you paid by Paypal and that was funded by DD (as opposed to eg a debit card) then that was called an e-cheque and took 7 days for the payee to get their money (and presumably 7 days before the payee would ship the purchase). Linking a debit card is much faster.1

Last I tried it you had to make a top up in the app. Otherwise you need to make a PayPal purchase and select your current account (not your debit card) as the funding source. This ensures the payment is taken as a DD.
Other options for artificially generating DDs if you're struggling are discussed here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5734632/savings-accounts-accepting-dds/p12
