Checking E7 times on meter?
I'm pretty sure the time of my E7 has changed. It used to be on the hour, it's been 7am in winter for as long as I can remember, the last couple of mornings it's bee 7:30am.
1) Is there a way to check the times on the meter?
2) is it possible for the timer to have changed?
Thanks - D

Much more info needed. If you have a radio teleswitch there may be a small red indicator (below '80A') which drops down during the cheap rate.
If you have an LCD meter the steady state display may show the rate that is in use at that moment. The teleswitch E7 timings can vary by +/- 15 minutes.I did have the timings changed many moons ago so that there was a two hour gap in the cheap rate, allowing double dipping with cheap rate last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Those times have now become the standard in my region. Not sure whether there's any choice now, it's probably take it or leave it, with the delights of Surge Pricing coming down the tracks.1 -
The answer to (1) depends on your meter and any associated timeswitch. As for (2), yes it's possible for the times to change. There are various ways this might have happened, depending (again) on your meter.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. The meter is a 'Secure Liberty 100'. I don't know about the timeswitch, I assume that's the meter?!QrizB said:The answer to (1) depends on your meter and any associated timeswitch. As for (2), yes it's possible for the times to change. I didn't know it could just change, learn something new every day!

Cheers! The Secure Liberty 100 is a smart meter. The timeswitch is likely to be internal.Smart meter E7 switching times are set in software and can be changed by your energy supplier. Have you changed supplier or tariff recently?

No, I've not changed. I'll give them a call & ask them if it was them.QrizB said:Dannii75 said:

Ta.No problems
Although, before you call them, will it be more convenient tfor you to have E7 until 0730 rather than it switching off at 0700? Eg. if you want a morning shower or to run the washing machine / tumble dryer / dishwasher? If so, you might want to keep quiet!N. Hampshire, he/him. The Secure Liberty 100 seems to be the winner of the wooden spoon for the most consumer unfriendly meter. You may find that it gives an indication of the rate currently in use if you press 6 a few times.2

Actually, that's a very good point! It's the shower that would make all the difference!QrizB said:Dannii75 said:No, I've not changed. I'll give them a call & ask them if it was them.

haha! so true! I have to send my own meter readings in, it's right at the back of the understairs cupboard... trying to hold a phone for the light & photo without falling while pressing no.6 is tricky!Gerry1 said:The Secure Liberty 100 seems to be the winner of the wooden spoon for the most consumer unfriendly meter. You may find that it gives an indication of the rate currently in use if you press 6 a few times.0
