Facebook Marketplace virus?

I've advertised two items on Marketplace this week and got an identical message for both saying ... "Is this the same as this item? If so, I will buy it..." and then they added a link. Both messages were from different FB profiels

I foolishly clicked on the first response, but the link went nowhere.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, how can I protect my personal data?

There is a thread about this already but I can't find it as search on here doesn't work for me. No one seems to know how this can be a virus- but has no other explanation for it at all. Happens a lot- I just block the person (although it is never the same person twice)

I've had this recently. I just report the person then block them and ignore them.

Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Yes a lot in the last 2 months.   This week I have had 6 of them.  Very annoying.  Just reporting and blocking them.  Not sure if anyone does anything once we report them?   There is no one to get in touch with on marketplace if there are problems.

I block and report them all as well, several a week, never had anything back at all from Facebook.
