Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark,- air feels cold.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, rice and veg. Tonight it will be LO pork braised in stock, LO mash, LO yorkshires, peas and gravy - this will cook whilst hairdresser is here.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, today will be busier as there's stuff on the calendar, but the day does pass quicker.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Wet and windy again. I thought after yesterday being such a glorious day the weather had broken but sadly not. I've no doubt the roads will be horrid again this morning.
No washing today but will strip my bed later, didn't get round to doing it at the weekend and couldn't be bothered last night plus there was the pottery throwdown to catch up on - very emotional.
Visited the library after work, thought I would have to pay a fine but I was ok, struggling to find a book that I can really get stuck into, maybe this selection will be better.
Hope everyone is well and is safe from the storms, seems quite a few people have damaged property. Take care. XX15 -
Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc.I was on the go for most of yesterday. The service engineer arrived at 9.30am and took just over an hour on his work. Then my cleaner came, I got her to take down the net curtain in the bathroom and also give the under sink cupboard a good wash down whilst it was empty. I had a quick trip into town to buy sunflower hearts and dump the broken ash vacuum. When I got home all the cleaning stuff had been very neatly put back in the cupboard. 😀 After lunch my gardener turned up, she planted the two rose bushes and lots of assorted bulbs in both front and back gardens. It was too late to plant the spring bulbs so they're back in a dark place for later this year. After rehanging the freshly washed net and having a meal I did nothing in the evening except enjoy the sunset, there was light until about 5.30pm and then if faded quite quickly, so lovely to watch. Mind you, the rain pounded down all night, not so much high wind but such noisy rain.Today the morning is quiet, well the whole day will be apart from a visit from a chap from a landscaping company to look over the front garden. I want the nasty bark removed and gravel put down instead. That'll not happen quickly but I want a quote and a date in the diary.I'm still munching through the chilli mountain, I reckon it will last me all week, so I've frozen my lovely soup in portions for next week.I hope that all are safe and warm and that the poorlies are doing at least OK. Happy Tuesday to everyone.16

Morning all
Dry here and meant to be a nice day lets hope so as we have had quite enough of the stormy weather, yesterday at work was fine no power cuts at all so hopefully today will be ok too.
Its my least favourite day client wise today, there is one in particular I struggle with and he is in today, its always a hard stressful day an I am always glad once its over.
Salmon for dinner tonight with new potatoes and asparagus, might marinade the salmon in chilli honey and lemon juice. DW needs emptying and I will see if there is enough washing to put a load on.
Have good days all xxx14 -
Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC.It's dry here at the moment. Yesterday was a fine day, with just the odd sudden shower. We went to Alnwick ga*dens, do go if you can in the summer Camelot. The town itself is nice as well. All the spring bulbs are poking through, and everything is budding. Lovely. We'll go back in a month to see how it's progressing. We try and go every month, I love to see how it changes over the weeks, but sometimes life gets in the way.TA, sorry to read the gales have done such damage to the roof/chimney, it must have been so frightening to hear it.Nanny, enjoy your holiday, it'll be a lovely change.I'm going to the Metrocentre today, I haven't been for ages and I have a small list to fulfil/ The car is going in for a service, and MOT, so we are hoping everything will be ok. ( and not cost too much if it needs work, though we'll have to pay up if it does, no car = no caravan holidays!)Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.15

Good morning everyone and thanks for the thread nmlc.
Chilly but calm here this morning. DD and I will get the pup out for a walk at lunchtime. He is currently sprawled on the (heated) bathroom floor
Dinner tonight is pork and apple burgers. I bought some brioche buns for the family to have too, I will resist the evil bread!
Was annoyed last night to receive an email from a local theatre advising my show had been postponed. Fair enough, but the show was on Sunday night and I’d bought the tickets for SIL and BIL for their Christmas gift. They travelled to the theatre only to be turned away. Will reply to the theatre today to ask for better communication.
A small wash to put on today, and wfh, other than that nothing exciting happening in Casa Coxy.
Hope Storm Franklin hasn’t caused too much damage/stress to folk. Hugs for all the poorlies and have a great time away Nanny x

Good Morning everyone , dry at the moment in north Kent. Trying not to worry too much about the news this morning ,hope common sense prevails in the Ukraine, after this awful world pandemic, wars are really not needed for any reason.
I'm off to coffee morning with my friends this morning (freebie coffee with my loyalty card) no shopping required I have dug a shepards pie out from the freezer for dinner tonight.
Grandson Mikey is off to Essex Uni tomorrow with his pal to check out the open day there, he may meet his older brother (next one up of the tribe of four boys ) if he has time, as Henry is in his third year there, and as he finishes in June, Mikey will start in September.
DD has a dentist appointment tomorrow with only a clean and polish so she's a happy lady as she's not keen on dentists at all.
Right time for a shower and another cuppa
have a good day everyone what ever you are doing and Happy Birthday to those celebrating and hugs to those who are sad or down.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. We had a beautiful red sky when I got up - now it's drizzling. And thankfully no gale force wind! It was lovely to go to bed last night and hear silence after the previous night when Franklin did his worst! I have just been looking online at photos of the surrounding area showing damage and floods. I suppose I have been lucky to get through with just a damaged chimney! But at the time the noise was so bad I thought the roof was taking off!
So today will be a much more pleasant day. It's Tuesday again so that means it's coffee and lunch meet up day with oldest buddy. As usual we will find lots to talk about. As it's half term week here we are hoping it won't be over-run with noisy children!
I currently have some lentil soup on the go for my forthcoming lunches and probably a bowl tonight after being my usual gluttonous self at lunchtime! It's a pity you can't buy willpower anywhere! I start off with such good intentions then find myself ordering fish and chips!!
The hairdresser duly arrived yesterday and I know I like to keep it short but sometimes there is too short, and yesterday was one of those days. Oh well I suppose it will soon grow and I do look a bit tidier!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and just fed ups. Hope you have all escaped unscathed from the never ending storms. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning all,
Sounds a bit windy outside today, but may well have to pop out and do some 'things'. Yesterday was productive, got the painting pretty much done, though have to paint over a small bit of blue on the white ceiling (that's tomorrow's job once it's all really dry and my shoulder has eased). Ended up having to get another new paint brush, but it's one with a special edge bit (diagonal cut bristles) and it made doing the edges easier while stretching! Wishing you all a good day today, take care, and I hope that you all cope with the challenges of the day.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Morning
The wicked winds calmed down here yesterday evening and what a relief. TA glad you managed to sort your chimney sounds really scary. Back to grey and drizzly today but I'll take that over horizontal rain and lying awake fearing the worst anyway
Busy one yesterday but the to do list finally got done.
Another busy one today new cleaner is coming at 9 and after 7 weeks there’s plenty to crack on with. Took the bedding off and shoved it in the washer this morning so she can put another set on. I’ve tidied up as much as I can so it’s not too horrific for her. Calls for the morning then I have BT coming this afternoon to fit a new router. Dreading it as I will have to change the codes on all the devices and then sort out sending back the old router as its more than their jobs worth for the engineer to take it back.
After they’ve both gone I will be lying in a darkened room…not used to strangers in the house now!
Left over crushed potatoes leeks and bacon for dinner
Have a good day all
