Doing a PIP MR

Hi,
Keep us all posted on your MR, also if it helps you can try and make an appointment with a benefits adviser at CAB as they help with what is looked for in the descriptors and quite used to filling out the forms. Also if it helps many people are having to go to MR, as DWP feel you will only go to tribunal or MR if you are deserving and entitled, those who are just trying to get something for nothing, probably won't try to appeal. This is what was told to me by CAB when I trained with them

Quick update, not heard anything yet, buts it’s early days. I did check with the DWP last week that they had received my MR evidence in the post and they have.0

Of course if you were awarded the 2 points for needing to hold onto something, then this would get you past the 12 points necessary for an enhanced DL award. It is entirely consistent with needing rails to get safely in / out the bath, and the points awarded for moving around.
If you continue with an appeal, I would suggest that you aim for enhanced awards for both DL and mobility. Explain the need to hold onto the sink in both your submission and verbal evidence to the tribunal.I have an update, and it is good news, found the letter in the post this morning!
I’ve got my extra points, and more beside. Not only did they give me the 4 points I was challenging for “Planning And Following A Journey” (b. Needs prompting to be able to undertake any journey to avoid overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant) That now takes me to 12 points for the Mobility Activities, and means I get the Enhanced Rate!
They also gave me 2 points for the “Managing Toilet Needs” (b. Needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to manage toilet needs or incontinence) which I didn’t challenge (see previous post) but I did highlight in my MR, that the HP had omitted in her report, that I told her I used the sink to get on, and off the toilet, and if the sink was not there, I would need a pulldown handrail. I did this with several sections to highlight just how the HP had omitted much of what was said by me in her assessment report!
So, from 11 points for the Daily Living Activity, to 13, meaning I also get the Enhanced Rate! And even better, they have agreed to a review in five years rather than two!
Needless to say I am extremely pleased with the outcome, and this just goes to show if you can, challenge things. Thanks very much to those wonderful people on here who helped! I admit, I am surprised how quick it was done, I was expecting a wait of months!
