The only arrest warrant I know of for personal debt is for if you have a judgement against you in a county court claim and the claimant has attempted to get an Order to Attend Court for Questioning against you. If you fail to attend court for questioning then the bailiffs can come and arrest you and unless you answer the questions then you go to prison for seven days.
Can you, please explaim me this, I do not understan quite well. How do you mean judgment against me. My debt is in loan and cc.0 -
Well if one of the people you owe money to put a claim in to the county court for the money and you didn't respond then they would get a judgement against you. This means that the court orders you to pay the creditor their money immediately. The creditor can enforce this judgement by sending the bailiffs out to you or by having money removed from your bank account (if they know your details). There are other methods too. There is also a thing called an Order to Attend Court for Questioning which is where you get served with papers by a bailiff which orders you to go to your local county court and answer questions by a court officer regarding your bank accounts, income/outgoings/assets/job etc. If you do not attend on the date set then your case is sent to the Judge and he will give you a sentence of seven days in prison but it is suspended on the condition that you attend court on a new date. If you don't attend on that date then the Judge instructs the bailiff to arrest you and you have to appear in court in front of him. If you refuse to answer the questions then you will be sent to prison for seven days.
You should know if you've been served with papers though as it has to be done into your hands and not just through the door. Have you asked your ex husband what the paperwork says?"The path of my life is strewn with cowpats from the Devil's own satanic herd!" Blackadder0 -

You won't get a criminal record for having debt so you can cross that worry off your mind.

Thank you so much. I was really getting paranoid that I will get criminal record and put in prison and my ex was just helping me out to get completelly mad.
And anyone who reads this please, please don't listen to your boyfriend, partner. husband to put their stuff on your credit cards and that everything will be OK. Because it wont and they will just get angry with you when you stop helping and leave you (finding another woman helps in that as well).0
