People's Energy to British Gas
I have been moved from People's energy to British Gas. Electricity reading on day of switch was 103611. British Gas have billed me from this reading. People's Energy have billed me up to 104109, so I am paying twice for units 103611 and 104109 (498 units at a cost of £70.06).
Any ideas on how to proceed? Thanks.
I have emailed People's Energy twice, but just get an "out-of-office"-type reply with standard text about administrators. I have contacted British Gas and they say it is an issue to resolve with People's Energy who should pass them the credit balance to add to my British Gas Bill (should be a total of £298.31).

In your position I'd complain to BG and open a meter reading dispute with them.BG should have supplied an opening reading to PE's administrators, and PE's administrators should be using that reading to calculate your final bill.N. Hi, I to have been moved from Peoples Energy to BG, September 2021. BG have yet to provide me with a bill, yet they can tell me how much I will be paying monthly till the next increase. I used to be a customer of BG. I left some 8 years ago due to poor administration. Here I am again, communicating with AI or occasional person by text/e-mail. (phoning is impossible) who do not answer the questions asked. I guess I am stuck with BG for the moment, but the first chance I get I will change to another provider. Good service has long been lacking with BG.
Latest update - just had a text, I will have to wait till June before I will receive a bill !!!!!!. The text does not tell me which year.
If this is correct I will be sending complaint to Energy Ombudsman. Again
Putting into context, these issues are miniscule against what is happening in the world today.

since moving from peoples energy to british gas last year, we have had trouble getting the account up and running and trying to understand it. finally got the credit amount from peoples energy onto our account back in Feb, and now have a credit with BG of £700+ , but not had abill since december? . finally got through on website chat today, and they say as a fixed direct debit customer we only get billed every 6 months? is this the case with everyone else who switched from peoples energy?0

I am also Very frustrated with the transfer to BG, they recommend that i need to increase my DD from £144 to £480 for both Gas and Electricity. I am yet to receive my final bill from PE, still no refund of credit. Now they say my Gas reading is too high and the system is rejecting it. I have smart meters which they say are working, so all the information should be available - but still no information on useage showing on my account. What a mess🙁
