How do I pay?

in Credit cards
I took out a 0% 19 months purchase credit card the other day with a view to use it to pay for some home repairs.
I have secured a builder to do the work and now I've just thought how do I actually pay for this type of work on a credit card?? It will most likely be payment into the account using an account number and sort code but it seems you can't do this on a credit card?!!

You will need to see if the builder accepts credit card.
I think you needed a money transfer card as opposed to a 0% purchases card.1 -
Unfortunately you have applied for the wrong type of card offer - a Money Transfer is what you should have applied forI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

As @Penguin_ says check if the builder will accept a card. Lots of businesses started to do this in the last 2 years due to not wanting to handle cash. And you certainly could come to an arrangement to purchase all the needed materials on it.

Since the start of things like Zettle, SumUp, Square etc more and more small businesses take credit cards as setup is cheap, monies paid quickly and no standing fees. In London even buskers now accept credit cards with many set up to do a £1 or £5 transaction by default.
If you got a purchase promo credit card you'll need to find a builder that accepts credit cards. Else you need a money transfer card where you can take the cash out of the card but then you get the 0% but not any protections.0 -
Thanks for the responses. Silly me!0
