Insurance after ban
Hi, I received a 6 month totting up ban which is due to expire soon. I'm trying to find out what I need to declare on my insurance application.
I understand the actual driving conviction needs to be declared but I'm unsure if the two previous speeding incidents also need to be declared as my licence has been 'wiped clean'.
So I had an SP30 in 2019 (3 points), an SP30 in 2021 (3 points) and an SP50 in 2021 (6 points) resulting in a ban. As my licence is now clean, do I need to declare the two SP30 incidents still??
I rang an insurance company and was told they would take whatever is showing on my licence - which is now nothing.
A little confused here so any help/advice appreciated.
Thanks

Insurers normally take it from the point of view of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and hence require convictions to be declared longer than they sit on your license for... these days however its more straightforward to just use the majority of insurers that ask for your license number instead and let them gather the data from the DVLA as they see fit0

Your licence was wiped clean of points but your driving record still includes the endorsements. You will also have a "TT99" endorsement on your record showing that you received a "Totting up" ban. You will need to declare these for five years from either the date of conviction or the date of the offences (depending what question the insurers ask).0

Insurance for me always asks accidents and convictions in the last 5 years. good luck0

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies. I think it's probably best to play it safe, delcare everything and deal with a higher cost for a bit.
Thanks again0
