I have a "interview & discovery session" for a Wagamama porter job in a few days, needing advice...

The main thing I'm unsure of is what to wear. It just says "If your interview is for a back of house position please bring a pair of non-slip shoes to wear. We'll provide you with a chef's jacket + apron. " but seeing as there's an interview involved I assume I will have to wear smart interview clothes... but wouldn't this look ridiculous if they're going to give me a chefs jacket & apron?
I'm just generally unsure of how professional to look and act for this.

Why not go and see what the people working their wear?
Be at least as smart.
For hospitality dark tends to be a good fit

"porter job"? Does that mean you are busing tables potentially working up to waiting on them too? If so then def go and have a look at what the people you seeing working there wear. And dress just a bit nicer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Not my area or industry but I would suggest trousers, shirt and tie would be wrong given their dress code.
Don't they have their front of house staff in black t-shirt, black jeans/trousers and then black trainers (if you have those items, if not go close to that). I'd replicate that and you could refer to it in interview when breaking the ice. Something like "I wasn't sure on appropriate dress code, so i thought it would be best to replicate your staff and be in practical clothes for the assessment". Shows you noticed something about the place in advance and ready to get hands on involvement.
Good luck.3 -
White shirt and smart casual trousers, clean shoes.

But what did you wear and did it have any relevance to the outcome? Good work on getting the job.2
