Despite repeated attempts over many weeks the latest Windows update is failing to load on my PC.
As well as Defender I run Ghostery and Express VPN.
I have tried running the update without the latter two but without success.
I'd be grateful for any tips.
Thanks.

Use the Windows Update Troubleshooter. It is built into Windows.Deleted_User said:Despite repeated attempts over many weeks the latest Windows update is failing to load on my PC.

As suggested above, run the update tool here -> https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows100

if that doesn't work google the error code.0

Try deleting all files in the following location
C:\Windows\Software distribution\Download I have done this in the past and then Windows update has re-downloaded everything it needs.
One one family lap top, that didn't work so I deleted all the contents of the C:\Windows\Software distribution folder as I was feeling brave and that did the trick.
Delete contents, reboot, run windows update.
hope this helps0 -
I still use Windows 7 lol. I think it's time to move on a new OS.
