How do I cancel auto-renew on car insurance policy (Aviva)

I have a car insurance policy with Aviva that is due to end in a couple of weeks.  I received the renewal paperwork in the post and it states it's on auto-renew so I need to remove that (I always shop around).
I tried logging into my account but couldn't remember the password, asked for a password reminder (several times) but no email/link has arrived.  I found an online form I could ask them to remove auto renew and sent that off yesterday but got a reply to say I need to log in to my account.
I did try calling them before I tried the online route but my policy is apparently an online policy and after the announcement said I needed to do it all online it cut me off.
Is my only option the Complaints Dept?

  • Can you email/live chat them and explain your not getting the turn off auto renew option? If not then yes try complaints.
I know on the Aviva Brands - QuoteMeHappy & General Accident (Assume same system as Aviva) you log in and can turn off auto renew easily but without being able to log in I’m not sure what else to suggest?

Are you with an email provider that filters spam before it gets into your inbox and doesn't show you what it has filtered out?  e.g, Apple  (you wouldn't know if it has been spam filtered in this case)

  • Thanks everyone.  No definitely not in spam as my partner has an account with them and same provider for email address and that worked fine.
They don't have live chat that I can see - I tried logging in from my partner's account to see if I could do it that way but I couldn't.
I've emailed the CEO, hopefully I'll hear something this week, failing that it'll have to be the Complaints Department.
