So much to read, so little time.1 -
I am bemused at reports and how hard it can sometimes be to see the difference between 'this needs painting or it will rot' and 'this needs painting because the colour is so 1990s and it has scuff marks' and equivalent. You might find the surveyor will be happy to tell you on the phone if the report translates into you should/should not buy it.

Thanks I've already anonymised it.
Thanks theoretica but you're talking about someone whose bread and butter is delivering babies not DIY and surveying buildings. I'm clueless0 -
Ours was the same.We had 3 level 3 issues which having done a bit more investigation aren’t particularly worrying (they need sorting soonish). If you like the house and are happy to accept doing work over time I’d still go for it.0

I think you read what I meant exactly the wrong way round! I meant the report is written the same to my eyes - not that I was bemused some people can't interpret them!

A lot of people struggle to understand what the survey really means, which is why many go to forums for help.1

Don't worry - I have a 74-page level 3 report from my surveyor too. They've laid it out really well and explained that nothing is structurally wrong with it, but lots of things need to be updated over time. My view is, if the previous owner was living in it absolutely fine, and its structurally sound, you can live in it and update bits and bobs over time in a way that is manageable for you.3

How old is the property?0

Here is some of the report.
They think it was built in the 50's.
