Bios message when I turn on my desktop

The last few days when I turn on my desktop I get this message with three options, Update bios from drive, save bios to drive, exit Q flash. I have been clicking on exit Q flash and my computer then loads but wonder if I need to click another option. I do not want to damage my computer as I cannot really afford a new one.

I think you will be fine just clicking on Exit as you have been doing. I don't know what has caused this message to start appearing suddently; my only guess is that the battery on the motherboard (usually a C2032 'coin' cell) has gone flat.

These batteries are cheap (less than £1) so you might try replacing it if you are confident that you can find it and get it out of its holder. A small, sharp knife (like a penknife) is a good tool to use, but make sure the PC is switched off at the wall and that you have waited about 10 minutes before attempting the repair. If you are nervous, you can either take it to a computer repair sho, or just keep clicking on Exit when the message appears.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

CMOS Battery failure doesn't cause entry into Q-Flash.

This situation can occur if you've left a USB device (pen drive/stick or similar) connected.  If so, unplug it and see if the situation clears itself.

no device left in do you think I should click on one of the other options ?
  • Check for a keyboard problem, pressing the <End> key on startup brings up the Qflash utility with the options you describe.

Depending on your motherboard, it may have a Qflash button, usually on the rear IO plate, possible that has been pressed / stuck etc?

A bit of guesswork above because you haven't mentioned what PC / motherboard make / model etc which is always super useful when diagnosing PC problems, so if you can provide that info somebody can confirm as it might be a different keyboard action / button location etc.
