That's always an option to consider but you would have to analysis your monthly usage day and night closely.ImDoingItForMe said:Shedman - the exit fee is £30.
Victor2 - I only have electric. I am a low user. Luckily this year has been a mild winter.
Ive often wondered whether it would worth me being on a single rate tariff through the summer months then switching to an Economy 7 tariff come end of sept. I've not because I don't want my direct debits being messed about with or the possibility of my readings been messed up by the electric companies if I did.Although looking at your usage of 1353 day / 990 nights then I'm guessing that for the 6 spring/summer months its probably only around 250/300 day and perhaps 50-100 night. So an April cap tariff of say 28p kWh would probably only save around £20-25 on day rate but offset by £8-12 on the night rate (plus the higher SC) so maybe not worth it esp with exit fees / hassle / uncertainty about what E7 rate you might be able to switch back to at the time.If it were me I think I'd plump for that fix and the certainty it brings , especially with only a £30 exit fee its not extortionate to switch out should things move favourably over the next year1 -
How long do the exclusive fixed offers from these companies last?
Do they change often? or will they still be available after 1st April when the prices go up.
Sorry for a lot of questions. I'm normally a bit more clued up but because of the horrendous price increases it seems a lot more complicated now. Normally I wait until nearing the end of my fix and look around but comparison sites aren't given much away (because there aren't any deals out there maybe?) As well as Scottish Power who haven't answered any of my questions other than to say they can't tell me anything yet and I'm only getting a bot online.....0 -
Sometimes they last for a couple of months; other times, a couple of days. It's impossible to say (although "good" tariffs seem to last less time than "bad" ones do).ImDoingItForMe said:How long do the exclusive fixed offers from these companies last?
