Which trade to replace an electric shower?

I have bought a new electric shower to replace our existing one. I’m hoping it should be a relatively easy job as its just a switch from one to the other. I don’t fancy DIYing it as I’m a bit paranoid about doing my own plumbing so I need to find a tradesman but who do I look for? Do I need an electrician who can do plumbing or a plumber who can do electrics? Or one of each?

thanks

A plumbing and heating engineer will definitely be able to do it as they can do both or will have both trades.
If not try a plumber. They will be able to do the wiring or will have someone they work with.
  • Cheers thank you!

Should be if it's the same make, model and power rating but if it's not the same make and model then the electrics and water connection points can be totally wrong. If it's a higher power rating the existing cable might not suitable.
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

As stated above, any plumber can do this as long as you are not increasing the rating of the shower, in which case you may need to upgrade the dedicated shower circuit cable and fusing to cope.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • The new shower is the same power rating so I’ll try and find a plumber

    thanks all
