Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope you get the cupboard sorted in time. Enjoy your lazy day, if it's anything like here it's absolutely pouring down.
Off DD's to cadge my lift to DS1's, must call at the SM on the way for goodies. I can't bake anything here until the oven is fixed.
Enjoy your holiday Nanny.
Take care and have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX13 -
Morning
Strange weather yesterday wet and wild one minute and perfect blue sky the next. Grey and rainy today and more high wind later it would seem. Whatever it does out there I care little I’m in my Sunday uniform of PJs and dressing gown.
Did most of my jobs yesterday so just need to empty the dishwasher then it’s a chill and some catch up TV
Gers Wont your cleaner do your bedding? Mine has to it’s a deal breaker for me. If I had to do my own I would be lying in a twisted mess.
The man coming to fix the meter box didn’t bother turning up Ignored a couple of messages too. Wouldn’t have minded if he’d just replied saying he didn’t want the job. So I’m back to trying to find someone else. What is wrong with these people a simple no I’m too busy or whatever would be fine.
Risotto was good last night with some garlic bread and a load of parmesan. Going to do an uber easy casserole today with turkey, veg and a can of Heinz soup! Found the Heinz site to have some great easy recipes and as I stocked up with tinned soup during lockdown I will be making a few.
Nan enjoy your boat holiday I hope the weather improves for your trip
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday

Morning everyone
Yesterday was a beautiful day here too - I got washing dried outside and a potter in the garden picking bits of rubbish up - mainly paper that has blown in.
Wet and wild all through the night though - rain has stopped for now but still very windy.
I'll be going down to mam and dads this morning to write his email to DD in Germany. No other plans for today - I have a chicken to roast for tea so will ask DD if they want to come up.
Hope everyone has a good day today. Take care x12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for the new thread. Yesterday's deluge of the white stuff was washed away by torrential rain through the night. It's forecast to bucket it down all day with strong winds accompanying it, and to get stronger as the day goes on. I am sick to death of horrible weather!
Is it bed changing day on here?! Mine has been stripped and is currently washing. It will festoon the back bedroom as usual until it's dry. The clean bedding is yet to go on, I am trying to summon up the necessary energy to do battle. I've got my nice poppy bedding out as I think the bedroom needs cheering up in this miserable weather.
I have the highlight of a Tesco delivery this afternoon. Definitely nothing for the back to rammed freezers which were going down nicely until I succumbed to all my bargains last week. But I am in dire need of fruit and veg and fridge stuff and a top up of boring household stuff to get it up to basket limit. I am still waiting for the e-mail giving me warning of any subs I may not want. As of last night when I checked everything was in stock but I have heard that before!
Have a good day folks if you can in this horrendous weather and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and fed ups, Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -

Morning all,
Firstly, good thoughts to all who need them, and a kick up the bum if you need that too!
We had a lovely day yesterday, had to go into town with DS, he got new trainers and finally admitted some water proof boots would be a good idea for walks (he likes dry feet!). I got some new walking boots too. Luckily the boots and the trainers he liked were decent brands but not at the top end of the price range, so that was fine, and they had been budgeted for. In the later afternoon I went a walk on my own, and it was lovely. Dinner was chippy treat, though I only had a half chips and a pickled onion as wasn't that hungry! Today isn't so nice outside but we will still get out later, time to strip beds soon but a bit of a lazy morning first, seeing it's Sunday! I have in mind some creamy chicken and veg pasta affair for dinner, I have everything in that we need for that. Have a good day all.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

She might if I ask her but I'd like her to do the stuff I can't do - skirting boards - and the stuff I don't like doing, dusting, washing the floors and vacuuming. The fortnightly wrestle is good for me and it won't last much longer, only until the winter top up duvet can be put away.Well, this morning turned exciting. I've booked for a long weekend in Berlin for two weeks time! Apart from the joy of seeing my beloved cousin again we have to sort out all the family papers I sent across to him when DM died. The university she went to, and taught in for her entire working life in Scotland, have accepted all the wartime material and letters for their special collections section so I need to retrieve them. They'll get used for research at some point, very satisfying. My first plan was to stay at an hotel near the airport and just meet up with Michael but he wasn't too impressed that I wasn't going to stay with him and his partner so I've been persuaded. I've also ordered a 'fit to fly' test - it's the very same as the free one but costs £12.00 and will produce an official certificate. More faff! It's been a hectic morning, so much for idleness again. I've also emptied the DW and laid a new fire ready to light if I get too cold for comfort. The bowl I pulled out of the freezer yesterday has about five portions of chilli, so that'll be my meals this week. Next time I'll do portions. Now I've a couple of birthday cards to write and a little light banking to do. Then I can start to be idle.Happy holiday Nan, hope that you can take the time to relax and forget all about everything else.

Hi everyone and thanks for the thread Gers.
I hope those with snow and power issues are doing okay. We are due more wind and rain today from about lunchtime, so I will try to get out for a quick walk beforehand.
We got home after 1am this morning. Lovely curry meal with friends and then back to her house for cake. I was driving so was awake around 8.30am with no muzzy head thank goodness. Not a great start to my FC journey but as least no alcohol wasted calories!
I need to food shop and do some housework today. DH is driving to Birmingham later as has a day in the office tomorrow. No chance of getting there in time by train, due to the storm disruption and early start.
Will have a nice bath and face mask later and an early night is calling me.
Hope all the poorlies are doing okay.

Good morning,
Very wet and windy, both yesterday and today🌧🌬.
I too changed the bed yesterday, I find dangling the duvet over the bannisters and holding the corners of the cover and shaking it down makes it easier to change. I also confess to drying the bedding in the tumble dryer, I don't mind drying clothes on the airers but I hate bedding and towels hanging around.
No plans as such today, might nip to A*da for a few bits, I've got burgers for tea and then Good Karma Hospital and the Pottery Throwdown to look forward to😁.
Have as good a day as you can🌻10 -
