Flat roof creaks

Hello,

Can anybody tell me if flat roofs are more prone to creaks that traditional roofs?

I've noticed creaks coming from my flat roof in the last few days of heavy winds.

Luckily unlike alot of unfortunate people ,it survived and I see no damage (yet) from the storms. It's a flat roof covered by a mechanically fixed vinyl rubber membrane. The kind that is torched at the joints rather than glued.

My thought is that it's the roof joists flexing under the wind pressure creating a creak. It only seems to happen in gusts over about 35mph.

They're not more prone, no, but it is a wooden structure, so it will have some give when subjected to force.  I'd forgive the roof in the winds we had the other day.
