Send relatively small amounts from UK to a private individual in China

I would like to send, as a gift, about £100 to a friend in China. She has a bank account in China but not in the UK. What would be the safest and easiest method? Please can you tell me what information I would need from the person in China? I do have another friend who lives in China who has a bank account in UK and in China. Would it be best to ask to transfer the money this way? In case you ask they know each other and both would be completely trustworthy. Is it likely a good percentage of the money would be taken by fees and exchange rates? Thank you in anticipation of your help.
