Third party smart meter data - Who?

I've read on a couple of threads that there are TP's who can provide you with lots of additional data from your smart meters, but I can't recall who they were, of if they are APP only or web-based?   Are they free?

Is there a web-based one, that will link to my SMETS2 gas and electricity meter records, that I can access, and does this only work if my suppliers have an active link with my meters set up too?

Do they provide in depth data, even if I've set it up with my supplier to send readings only once a month?

Many thanks.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.56% of current retirement "pot" (as at end January 2025)

There's the Bright app from Hildebrand.

If you want a web based one there's guy lipman's one which I find very useful https://energy.guylipman.com/sm/home.  This gives various sets of data (monthly, daily, half hourly in figures and graphs and data is downloadable as a CSV file.
This will require you to have an N3rgy account https://data.n3rgy.com/home set up first. On N3rgy site choose the I'm A Consumer tab.

Both will need details from your meter or IHD but straightforward enough

You can only get 30 minute data if your meters are set up for 30 minute usage recording. In this situation, your supplier pulls data from your meters once every 24 hours and this includes an XML file of usage/per 30 mins. Hildebrand is a Registered DCC Other User and with your permission it can also pull data from your meters.

The only supplier that I am aware of that uses data from the IHD is Bulb. Bulb uses the CAD side of the IHD/CAD to get data into SmartThings. The granularity of the data is not as good as BRIGHT.

I confess that I am struggling to see why you seem reluctant to let your supplier access 30 minute data? Bear in mind that future price comparisons will not require smart meter owners to enter kWh/year into price comparison websites. Comparisons can already be made by pulling the past 12 month's worth of data from the smart meter.

Thanks for that. I'll look into them.

We only set up the meters for monthly, as the installer asked what we wanted, and that just was what we plumped for, without much thought TBH.   Not sure how we'd change it now?   Do we go via our supplier?

TBH, we're still in the process of getting Eon Next to recognise the meters, since being migrated from Eon.   We were migrated in November, and they still aren't communicating, but hope to get this sorted this week.  They are "on the case" apparently!!

I've been giving manual readings in the meantime, so I know bills are all OK.

The Eon Next website doesn't seem to give as much breakdown (graphs) etc of usage like some other suppliers we've been with, which is a bit disappointing, unless i'm missing a tab somewhere.

My phone is already pretty full of Apps, so not much space available, for even more!!!    So I'll no doubt be pushed into upgrading my phone too in the not too distant future as "life" is by app!!!

Some suppliers like Octopus allow you to do it online: if not give CS a call. Smart meters are installed on the basis of one meter: one supplier. Before a supplier can pull data from your meters it, A, needs to be the designated supplier on the National Database and, B, it needs to send out bespoke security certificates to each of your meters.

Ofgem is moving towards making 30 minute data the standard for all smart meters. I am surprised that E.oN Next is bothering to produce consumption data as it has bought into the Octopus Kraken billing system, and time-of-use tariffs are the way forward.
