Sounds like the vendor may be dragging their heels a little but things don't move quickly anyway.
We are currently selling, I instructed a solicitor within 48 hours of accepting the buyers offer (accepted offer on a Friday so Monday was earliest). Forms all returned 3 days after that so in a week of accepting the offer, our solicitor had everything they needed to proceed.
We are now 2.5 weeks since offer has been accepted and our solicitor has sent over draft contracts so theirs can start searches.
Neither party is in a chain, just to give you an example of timescales and as a vendor, I returned everything fairly quickly.
Hopefully the vendor is not using one of those cheap online only solicitors. My sister in law paid about £800 when she bought last year and I couldn't fathom how it was so cheap. It took over 5 months to complete, she was a FTB and the house was empty and no chain so the delays were because her solicitor was pants. You pay peanuts....you get.....you know.0 -
I've asked for clarification on the seller's position and I'm going to hold off on spending any more money until there is movement on their end.0
