Full disclosure, this is also posted verbatim in Pensions / retirement: (sorry if that is bad practice)
I am 41, full time employed salary c £75k.
Mid 2021 I took VR from my job of 15 years. Since then I've been a deferred member of the company pension scheme, with about £150k in my pot (DC). I was a "good leaver" so am bonus eligible for 2022 payout, and I will want to salary sacrifice this into my old pension pot (hope that makes sense!!).
Old employer paid fees on the pension, so i have no understanding of what fees normally would look like, but currently as a deferred member i pay c£50 / quarter based on the £150k pot.
If you were me what would you do after March when bonus is added to the pot and i no longer have any reason (i think) to leave it with Mercer.
Should i leave it as it? should i move it to a SIPP, should i move it to new employer (I know i can, but unsure on costs etc)
Any whilst i am typing
With my redundancy money, i filled 2021 ISA and LISA allowances, and plan to do 2022 also (i have separate 6 months emergency money in an instant access saver). Both are with AJ Bell and i am equally invested in HSBC All World and AJ Bell Adventurous funds.
Would you do anything differently here?
Current employer pays 9% pension contribution and i've chosen to pay 16% making a total of 25% per annum contributions.
I would like to retire at or shortly before 60.
Really just what are your thoughts? Ideas?
much appreciated!
