Anyone use 'Wisen' or 'Smart Life' App to control their heating?

Looking at Prog Stats, ideally with App control. Some of them (the cheaper ones...) use the above Apps for remote control.
It doesn't have to be accurate for its intended use, essentially being either on or off - ie 'frost' or 'heating on', as TRVs will do the temp controlling for the shortish periods it'll be on.
Wondering what the App interface looks like for these two?
Thanks.

I use Smart Life to control the wireless thermostat for the electric underfloor heating in my shed (home office). It’s pretty basic but does the job I need it to

Brilliant, ILSD - that's what I was looking for.Clear interface, and easy to turn the heating up or down - that's all that's needed. Perfect

No problem. I was sceptical about the quality when I first got it but in the 3-4 months I’ve been using it, it hasn’t missed a beat1

Thanks again.Could I ask what 'stat unit you are using it with, please?0

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B088LT156W/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1This one. Functionally it has worked absolutely fine, however it’s hard to see the UI on the front as it’s way too dim and i couldn’t get it to fit properly in a pattress box but that could just be me being stupid. As it’s in the shed and I control it with the app then I’m not bothered but it would be annoying otherwise1

Cheers again, ILSD.That's the sort of thing I was considering. Not as fancy as that, so hopefully it'll be more clear with a standard LCD display.Yes, they tend to have a lot of bulk behind them so it can have the slim aesthetic front panel! If you can't sink it in to a back-box, then the pattress will have to be quite a deep one, I suspect. So, it's wired up, and then you connect it to your Router? Does each 'stat have a WiFi password/code? And, once connected to your router, you can then control it via your phone wherever you are?0

Wisen has poor reviews in the app store, there are some pictures of the interface though not of the specific part for heating. I don't have the wisen app sorry, I looked it up as I wondered if you'd meant to type wiser - obviously not

Nope! I'm going cheap

It only has to be the most basic App/remote control - change the temp in real time. The Smart Life looks spot on for this. Are they interchangeable, I wonder - do devices that'll work with one also work with the other? If not, I'll make sure it's 'SL' compatible. Thanks

Unless a device is advertised as working with <THIS> app, then no, you can not use a different app. They will use different servers, communication protocols, and login credentials. You are also at the mercy of the manufacturer keeping the server online for as long as you keep the product - Most devices will default to a fixed IP address with an access point to allow you to connect via a web browser (usually on 192.168.1.1 or similar IP address). This is where you can set your WiFi credentials, and maybe even control the device.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
