Loft boarding

Hello, I had a mybuilder builder come out and price up boarding my loft.. I’ve a 1930s semi detached and it’s a little wonky so can’t just lay down the boards. The quote is £1780 which includes: supply and Fit new fakro wooden ladders, raise new subfloor, insulation between new floor timbers and Fit new strip light and switch above ladder. The area is 5 meters by 4 meters.. 

i have no idea if this is a good price! Is this a good price for the work?? Thank you

I paid £350 for loft flooring of around 3m x 4m. No door, however. Mine is a 1930s semi. 

They couldn't lay down the legs in mine so they installed timber joists onto the ceiling joints actually making the ceiling sturdier. You could argue this is a new subfloor. 

Do you have a breakdown of price? My boarding was done before covid and rocketing timber pricing, keep in mind.

I am paying £1,273.44 plus VAT for 200 square feet of boarding , fakro ladder, LED strip light, new subfloor,  new hatch in hall and seal off old hatch. This is in the North East.

so your paying £1,528.128 for a slightly smaller area then mine! I’m north west.. it sound like your having exactly what I’m wanting ….. our price is comparable
