Withdrew from Loan agreement within 14 days but entry still exists on credit file. Advice please.

Options
Hi,
I took out a loan but didn't require it then and withdrew from the loan agreement within 14 days and paid it off in full within the 30 days of the withdrawal notice. The loan is showing as settled under Closed Accounts in my credit file. What is the correct practice here can anyone advise please? I have no issue it showing as a hard search but as I withdrew from the agreement within 14 days of obtaining the loan am I correct in believing it shouldn't show within closed accounts and should be completely removed from my credit file?

s66a of the CCA 1974 states

(7)Subject as follows, where the debtor withdraws from a regulated consumer credit agreement under this section—

(a)the agreement shall be treated as if it had never been entered into,

An agreement that "had never been entered into" should not show on your credit file.

  • Thank you should I quote this in correspondence back to the creditor as an official complaint to get this removed from my credit file under closed accounts?
