There is no £60 flat rate allowance for WFH.smilee2106 said:I have the £60 Flat Rate with the 22/23 tax code this year as my contract is WAH. With the higher utilities costs coming in, would it be better to do a self-assessment and keep track of all the related costs? Sure it'll work out at more than £60!🤔
I suspect you are getting confused with a previous claim you have made for uniform cleaning of some other trade related flat rate expense.0 -
I assumed this was a reference to the approximate tax saved.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:

My mistake. I checked my tax code and I have an additional £60 allowance I presume to be from claiming back for WFH even prior to pandemic. I've never made a trade related claim. I did look at the link, but like another poster elsewhere, couldn't really see a straight answer.Jeremy535897 said:

I have a separate room for an office, not a bedroom, had to get an extension installled for my landline, no payments from employer, computer hardware supplied by them but I'm required to provide a wired internet connection and was using my landline to access their phones incoming/outgoing- this then changed to VOIP and now I do Live Chat Support only. So, back to original question, should I keep track and file annually given the higher costs? What calculations are involved?0 -
Back to my earlier reply:
See https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/employment-income-manual/eim32815 for what can be claimed.

Can you claim anything if you work part of the week from home, part in the office? Once my employer realised during the pandemic that a lot of our work could be done from home, they took the opportunity to re-locate to a smaller office so only about half the team can be in at the same time and we have to work from home on a rota.0
