You will be in a deemed contract with the existing suppliers the moment you turn on a light or the gas appliance.  On Friday, send them your name, address, the opening meter readings and your DD info.  Don't sign up to any fixed deals for the time being.
Send the Octopus your closing readings and your new address.
    That's it.

    Ok thanks
  • Congratulations on your new home!

Bear in mind that when contacting the deemed supplier there is a good chance they will try to infer that you have to take a fixed deal with them as a lot of folk seem to be encountering that at the moment. They're not being truthful, just say thanks, but you'll stick on the variable for now.

OH, and remember to take photos of old & new meter readings the minute you move, it may save a lot of arguing later on
