Buyer delaying indefinitely

To me, it is the time it takes for things to happen.Where you have a committed buyer and seller the process can be quick. Its where you have one party less on the ball that problems occur. The home information pack sounded a good idea. The issue comes from the condition of the property per the survey. If the surveyor hashes it up can the buyer sue them? Does the seller put pressure on the surveyor to hid details to make the house more attractive?Maybe a pack is right with a standard level survey highlighting issues that the buyer can investigate in depth if necessary? It would cut the fair weather sellers out of the market if there were upfront fees to pay.May you find your sister soon Helli.

Honestly, take it from someone who has been messed about a lot. You need to be kind but firm.
Tell them you need regular updates and if you are not happy, they don't respond or things are not happening, give a deadline and put it back on market.
If someone didn't reply to me or I found out nothing was happening I would not continue with them. You are in a good position where you do not need this buyer, so drop them and start again.
I wouldn't even wait 2 weeks. Tell him it's going on the market tomorrow and he has until a new buyer is found to exchange0 -
chareth_cutestory said:I accepted an offer for my flat in September 2021, right after I moved in with my partner. He's a cash buyer who wanted a quick sale so I expected 8-12 weeks, but 5 months on and he's ignoring all attempts at contact by either the agents or his solicitors.
Why isn't your EA being proactive about this?
One time when I accepted an offer, and the buyer stopped answering the EAs calls, and ignored the EAs messages. After about 10 days of silence, the EA advised me to put the property back on the market.
If the buyer got back in contact, perhaps I'd have taken it off the market again - but they didn't.
(To be fair, the EA suspected that they might be a flaky buyer form the outset, so they didn't give them much 'benefit of the doubt'.)

5 months? Surely time to find another buyer?0

If he has't even provided ID and proof of funds yet, how do you possibly think he can exchange in 2 weeks? The conveyancing can't even start until he does, and the searches alone can take a month or more. Just stop wasting any more time and put it back on the market now. You've already waited 3 months too long.No free lunch, and no free laptop
