I know it doesnt really matter as its only a day or two either way. But after a long 6 year old slog this is the final default dropping off my file
So default registered 29/02/2016(leap year) - what date does it drop off my file.

6 years after the fact. If you access a free report you may not see it until that updates, but it should update on the system automatically regardless.0

well yes i know that, but the leap year was my question- which date will it be 28/02 or 01/03?

The reports you see are renewed on independent monthly schedueles.
For example, my experian report is generated on the 8th. If I had your default on the 29th - it wouldn't be removed on the report until the new report was generated on 8th March. This will apply to all the CRA's (though the particular date will be different).
For the avoidance of doubt, I'd just plan on the basis that all three of your credit reports will be clear of this default by 01/04/22.
Regarding your credit files, I don't think any of us can know for certain but likely instantaneously as I'd imagine this sort of thing is automated.Know what you don't2 -
Not if you do the statutory report it wouldnt0

If a third party is directly performing a credit search on you, then it's likely to be instantenous.Know what you don't0 -
Transunion, equifax, and experian all offer a statutory report of your credit file on how it looks there and then, not through the free ones clearscore equifax etc.
Anyway we are digressing here0 -
