Hearing Aid

As others have said the NHS provides good quality hearing aids suited to your needs, not "basic" aids (whatever they may be).Going privately means you are likely to be seen more quickly and have easy access to your audiologist. The latter can be important if your hearing loss is out of the ordinary or you have particular needs. I went privately because I had a major concern about the quality of music reproduction. It took eight visits to the audiologist at weekly intervals to get the programming as I wanted. When you buy hearing aids privately you're not paying just for the aids but also for the cost of your hearing test(s) and programming of the aids. Also the purchase should include follow up appointments to check your hearing, any reprogramming needed and maintenance and repair of the aids.0
