Land Registry Boundary Incorrect

Hi
I bought a house around 7 years ago and when we bought the house, on the land registry side it seems the boundary cuts right through the rear of the property. Unfortunately the previous Solicitor seems to have missed this and, at the time, I told them they had the wrong house circled however they said it wasn't an issue. Obviously this is a mistake and we need to get it rectified I just wondered if anyone has had the same issue and how long it took to resolve?
Thanks!

Who owns the remaining bit of land?1

I'd say it would likely be the council. The land was bought from them by the original owner. The council have there own fencing on the other side of our fencing so I'd say the boundary hasn't shifted since the purchase of the house.0

No need to guess. You can download the title plan for £3 from the Land Registry website and find out for definite.

We have done that and, even though I mentioned it to my Solicitor when purchasing the property, it does look incorrect as the line cuts across the house so it does need amending.
I've left it with a Solicitor to look into who are contacting the council I was just wondering how long this will take, roughly to get this amended?0 -
If it is a mistake and the council agree to sort it immediately then probably no more than a few months if you have a good reason for the application to be expedited. If they don't agree then as it stands currently the council own the land and don't ever have to give it (or sell it) to you.Sandworm said:We have done that and, even though I mentioned it to my Solicitor when purchasing the property, it does look incorrect as the line cuts across the house so it does need amending.

Timescales will vary wildly. It depends on how quickly your council want to deal with it. It's not going to be their top priority.0
