As I understand tax on interest, you receive interest in year 1. HMRC learn how much in year 2. Use this interest figure to calculate tax code for year 3.The interest for 2020-21 will have been sent to HMRC in July and they would normally have finalised the tax for 2020-21 by September 21.Neither Ms Descrabled nor myself have yet had 2020-21 final calculation and any underpayment carried over to 2022-23. Still not to worry, it'll all come out-in-the-wash eventually.1
