    Hot water diverter?
    If you have a tank

Hot water tank was ripped out around 10 years ago for combi boiler, all the pipe work remains in place but no physical tank.

    Bird mesh?

It didn't come up but I will mention it, we do tend to have pigeons around the roof top in the summer so assuming it would make us higher risk to issues with them nesting?
  • Maybe hold back until you have the other quotes in. Then see what they can do with the mesh at the point of signing the contract.

Agree with that. Otherwise this first quote looks pretty reasonable, given the insane state of the market.

Wood pigeons aren't generally a problem, but feral ones ("rock doves") can be. How are you at telling them apart?

Having had a quick Google, I believe they're wood pigeons based upon the call they make

When I had panels installed earlier this month, the guys said they were working 7 days a week and had a backlog of several months. I can therefore understand why some will be slow to respond.
    6.4kWp (16 * 400Wp REC Alpha) facing ESE + 5kW Huawei inverter + 10kWh Huawei battery. Buckinghamshire.
  • The next quote has come in, they phoned me yesterday and have just sent over the quote.

    16 x JA Solar 370W Mono
    1 x Huawei SUN2000 - 5KTL Hybrid 5kW Hybrid Inverter
1 x K2 Tiled Roof - Roof hooks, rails and clamps
    1 x Huawei Energy Meter
    1 x Domestic Electrical
    1 x Grid Application
1 x Fully installed MCS accredited PV system, Design, Installation, Commissioning, MCS Certification and 5 Year Warranty
1 x 10 year independent warranty from IWA
    £8000 inc VAT

So this one is almost £1100 more but comes with a hybrid inverter and gives a bit more detail on fittings being used on the roof. I've got one more company working on a quote now and 2 more I have calls booked with on Friday and Monday. I'm leaving towards the initial quote as its got higher powered panels and for only £900 more than this I could get the hybrid inverter and the first PlyonTech battery too...
