Alternative Green Bonds

Hi
I have been receiving emails over the last few months regarding green fixed rate bonds to `raise capital for a sustainable future`.  Each email indicates that MSE has teamed up with one of the large energy companies to offer these deals. I have looked on the MSE site and cannot find any reference to these. Has anyone else been receiving these emails and can MSE confirm whether they have any involvement in these investments? The energy companies mentioned so far have been SSE & Eon.
I acknowledge these might not be genuine investments as they offer better rates than NSI

Certain scams. Neither MSE or Martin Lewis market these things
Hear it from the man himself

  • NS&I green bond interest rate increased to 1.3%. You lock your money away for 3 years.

Although these bonds are clearly a scam , it does not follow that any investments ( green or otherwise) are not genuine just because they offer better rates than NS&I/savings accounts .

The key point is that anything offering better rates /potential returns, should make it clear there is some risk involved and the rate is not guaranteed and capital loss is possible .

It's very likely that at some point in time you gave out your details out on some webpage that you found by googling something like 'google best investment returns'. That page was not a 'real' investment page but was in fact set up by scammers.
You're now very likely to continue to receive emails forever more via that email address, either from the original bunch of scammers or others who they sell your information onto - so trust nothing at first reading as scammers are very good at making up seemingly great looking investments.
You may also have given out a phone number too, so be careful with approaches that way too.

Both of these brand names are used by clone scammers (i.e. nothing to do with them).

Yes. There has been another thread on this and confirmed (not that it needed to be) that it was fake.

Genuine regulated companies do not cold market investments.

You mean scams like this one using the MSE name?

  • Hi @Baslow13 ,

Thanks for letting us know. MSE are aware and doing what we can to shut it down.

In the meantime, we want to remind you that Martin never endorses products, nor does MSE. It's so important to us that people don't fall victim to these sorts of scams.
