LAP 45A, no space for wires

I had to change the Gang DP switch for the shower which is housed on the wall outside the bathroom.
The wires come down the wall from the attic. They are rigid and with minimal space it is near impossible to get the switch flush to the wall so I can screw it back in place.
Any suggestions? I have already been up the loft and tried to pull the cables up but that isn't helping.
I'd be content with a larger housing box that protrudes from the wall so as long as the wires are concealed.
Thanks

Is the wall solid or plasterboard? If it's plasterboard you could swap out the back box for a deeper one to make more space. Or you could use a spacer to bring the plate out from the wall. Something like this.0

Thanks for the reply. It's plasterboard.scottishblondie said:Is the wall solid or plasterboard? If it's plasterboard you could swap out the back box for a deeper one to make more space. Or you could use a spacer to bring the plate out from the wall. Something like this.
The wall is probably no more than 2 inches thick.
I was lookin for a deeper one somewhat similar to a cooker switch but couldn't find what I was looking for.
The spacer looks like a great alternative too - I never knew they existed. That might just give the extra room needed.

Most brands will have a spacer, I think, so you can get one that fits the shape of your switch.ryan7 said:

A 47mm back box might work if you've got a shallower one currently.0
