Should I pay off my holiday balance with my Curve Card?

in Credit cards
I am in the 30 day period where i would get 1% cashback every time I use my Curve card for any purchase.
I booked a holiday in October and I am going away with my family in August. The balance isn't due until May so I usually keep they remaining balance in a (poor interest rate) savings account, collect any interest in April and pay off the balance in May.
Should I pay the remaining balance now to utilise the 1% cashback knowing the Curve card doesn't have the Section 75 credit card protection.
I paid the initial deposit with my credit card but my worry is that i've had 2 holidays cancelled because of Covid (probably won't happen this year but you never know) and I got a full refund in both instances.
The Curve card is a Mastercard so I will still be able to use Mastercard's chargeback scheme if anything were to happen.

What holiday is it? If its a package holiday with a reputable company it probably makes no odds how you pay it. If its a DIY jobby maybe you proceed differently.
Section 75 isnt a silver bullet to solve all problems btw. If you cant go on the holiday due to issues of your own making them its likely going to be a travel insurance job.1 -
Thanks Emma. Its an all inclusive package holiday from a reputable company that has the ATOL & ABTA protection.emmajones1976 said:What holiday is it? If its a package holiday with a reputable company it probably makes no odds how you pay it. If its a DIY jobby maybe you proceed differently.

I see your point with regards to insurance and I have got a policy already in place. My previous cancelled holidays were because the destinations were in the COVID red list so that dictated the outcome.0 -
I would not personally use Curve for anything that may require chargeback or is high value.
I appreciate that legally you get S75 cover from a deposit; practically having the whole booking on a single credit card makes admin easier.
