Vinted returns policy

Options
Hi. Wondering if anyone had any trouble with vinted Returns?

I received so,e damage shoes where all the soles had split but the seller failed to mention this. I opened a case and vinted said the seller had to provide their return address. 3 days later I got the package ready to send the next at. Tracked at my cost. The buyer also pays buyer protection fees

i added the tracking the next day to be told by vinted that I missed the 3 day return period and the funds were released to the seller and the case was now closed. The shoes were already on their way back

I have gone back and forth with them, checked all their terms and there is absolutely no mention of a 3 day return policy. Am I right in thinking by law a buyer has 14 days to return a damaged item under the consumer rights and distance selling? I feel like this surely is breaking some sort of law only giving someone 3 days to return

  • From the Vinted website here

    "How to get a refund?

There are 4 steps to claiming your refund:

    1. Submit your claim in 2 days (after the order status updates to “Delivered”)
    2. Chat to the seller or contact us
    3. Return the item
    4. Receive a refund
    1. Submit your claim in 2 days..."

They seem to put make the terms clear. It is one of the main differences compared to ebay and is one reason I don't like buying from Vinted. I don't know if distance selling regulations apply to used goods.

On the basis you have the seller's address, then just send a letter before action giving them 7 days to refund (once tracking shows delivered) otherwise you will take them to court for all costs.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Thank you both. I did open a case within the 2 days as in their terms. But when I returned it on the 4th day and sent tracking they said I was outside of their 3 day return period. I’ve scoured their terms and there’s no mention of a 3 day return period any where

I messaged the seller with my bank details when the tracking showed they were receive giving her 2 days.

I’m attempting a chargeback through my bank but if that doesn’t work I will definitely go via a small claims court. The amount isn’t huge, £50. But they have them back and said they will not refund, so it’s more principle

hoping my bank sort to make things a little easier
  • It's under the dropdown section on this page under the title "can't find an agreement with the seller"
