When i've only just moved (talking fews weeks or less) and still have access to post at my old address then it's just common sense to put the old address for something like a savings account.

You can update the address once open. Otherwise you get rejected or at best called in for an interview just for a savings account (happened to me with Metro Bank)! It's not like you're applying for a loan or credit card.

It's up to the OP of course - but it's not something I'd risk - not even for 'only a savings account'. If the new occupiers have updated their financials and gotten themselves onto the electoral roll, you don't really want to mess around with the timelines by applying for new accounts on an old address. I know savings accounts are less stringent - and it sounds sensible enough - but the last thing I'd want is for someone to get a CIFAS marker for application fraud over something that through waiting a few weeks and letting everything catch up and update, could just be done through the regular channels. (Using a wrong address can get you a CIFAS marker - and it's now a wrong address). There are a couple of experts here that might be able to advise in a bit more detail in terms of how this might apply to a savings account - but I'd certainly prefer to be patient and do it right, rather trying a workaround and ending up stung.

Why are you opening so many accounts?
  • I have never been registered for electoral roll in 21 years in London and never had a problem with getting whatever credit card, saving account or account I wanted, very good credit score. And I had a very good credit score at 1st February, 3 weeks ago.

Until recently there were not much offers for switching or higher interest for saving accounts so I didn’t do much.

I am going travelling soon and I wanting to put finances in order in few days... open few accounts to switch and get rewards, get a saving account since i close my notice saving account recently and get credit cards with 0% on transfers and 0% on purchases.

First problem was raisin... i thought they open a saving account straight away but they wait until you transfer the money to them by then I had open 2 accounts and apply for a credit card with hsbc 3 times which led to 3 hard credit checks since their website failed I had to called them cancelled and start again. I have complained about it. Before that I had the eligibility check  from MSe done and for most of the credit cards i had 100%  pre- approval, now I have a 0% or 20% for most. I applied for sainsburybank credit card after Hsbc fiasco and i was rejected.

I was unsuccessful for 3 saving accounts with Raisin and still waiting on Tandem and Habib bank Zurich. It is a lot of interest loss since I have my saving in a 0.40% waiting instead of a 1.45%.

I just wanted to do everything in a week then wait for the cards to arrive and leave soon to go travelling.

I do not have any debts whatsover and have good saving. So now what should I do? It seems that waiting it is the only solution which is not good since I am leaving for a sabbatical year of beautiful travelling and by the time I can get another credit card I will be far. Any other suggestions to push up my credit score or whatever I need to get credit cards and a saving account with no problem.

If the solution is waiting, how long until applying again?

How can I see my crefit score/report now? I have the mse club but the new one was received on 2nd February when it was pristine and until next month It won't be update. Any other way to see it updated without paying?

    Thanks in advance

HSBC should be able to remove the duplicate hard searches if a result of a website malfunction. This would have a significant impact. Otherwise the impact of the searches could last ~6 months.
Alternative credit report sites are Credit Karma (updates weekly) and Clearscore (monthly I think). Each gets data from a different credit ratings agency, so they won't be identical. MSE Credit Club uses Experian, which tends to be the most commonly used.
