Does your home insurance policy include no claims discount protection?

My insurance provider no longer offers any no claims discount protection for home policies, not even as an extra option. If I make a claim my discount status will be reset to zero.

Most Home insurer's dont recognise NCD at all but go for the more basic questions of how long have you held insurance and what were your claims in the last 5 years. You could have NCDP to keep your "4 years NCD" but the reality is when you shop around next year after a claim most will either not ask or ignore the NCD and just take the 10 years insurance and one claim last year.

There keep being attempts to make NCD more of a thing in Home insurance like it is in Motor but for some reason it just doesnt seem to take off.

I've had no claims discount protection in my home policies for many years, from different providers. This change by my current provider (an others underwritten by the same company) has come without any explanation.

If its important to you then shop around and find a provider that offers it. Personally never bought NCDP on Motor either but then with car insurance you only drop 2 years after a claim so not a total wipe out.
