EON NEXT price increase

Has anyone noticed an increased amount showing on their smart meter since the automatic move from EON to EON Next?  I am on a fixed contract witn EON until October 2022 and the automatic move to EON next should not have resulted in a price increase. But our daily charges have increased by about £1.50 a day. So over the month it will be an additional £45 on top of our normal charges. We have been around the house checking that there isn't anything using power that we are not aware of. We have even turned off our night time security lights but that hasn't made a difference.

You need to monitor the kWh usage, not just the ££.
  • Eon next have definitely increased my price following automatic move from eon to eon next. kWh price and standing charge have increased despite them making the following statement in faq

I was only looking at my usage last week and had written each element down (cost per unit and standard charge) attempting to predict the cost after April increases. My account switched over on Saturday. My economy 7 electricity charges have increased  as follows

Day 23.21 to 24.37 per kWh
night 11.26 to 11.82 per kWh
standing charge 28.14 to 29.55 per day

Great to know they have increased the price just over a month before the huge hike expected in April.

You are comparing ex-VAT to inc. VAT pricing, there has been no increase...

I've just checked my own bills compared to my original tariff for the same reason but looks as though everything is as it should be - my charges appear slightly higher on my original tariff compared to on my bills, however I think that one includes the 5% VAT whereas the other doesn't.

It does feel as though my bill is higher than it should be, however I switched tariffs in August as my previous deal came to an end - while I knew it would be slightly higher than before, I wasn't expecting it to be quite so much. I've gone from paying £30-40 DD (most expensive month being under £50) and always being in credit to being in close to £100 in debt from the same payment with my most expensive month being close to £60. Annoyingly, I was switched to eon next shortly after starting my new tariff so cannot compare bills but I'm hoping it's just a result of my increased usage over winter and my bills will average down as we move into spring/summer.

Do bear in mind that, if you're on a variable tariff, there's a ~55% increase coming in 3 weeks.
